Founded in 2015 by visionary designer Ellen Søhoel, the practice emerged from a rebranding of Bishop Design Residential, evolving into a multifaceted design collective across architecture, interiors, and art collaborations. From its humble beginnings with just two employees, XBD Collective has swiftly grown into a global powerhouse, now employing over 100 professionals across its Dubai, London, and Kochi offices, representing more than 30 nationalities.

XBD Collective has earned over 90 prestigious awards for its masterful design, including top honours at the International Property Awards, Arabian Property Awards, and Commercial Interior Design Awards, recognising landmark projects such as Solar House, Kata Restaurant, and more.

Their projects include the iconic Rixos Residences in Downtown Dubai, where Ottoman-inspired designs meet modern luxury, and the serene AlThuraya Island residential interiors, featuring earthy tones, panoramic windows, and serene material palettes that evoke the natural environment.

A standout commercial project is Modern Working in the Opus Tower, Dubai—an award-winning workplace designed with fluid forms, geometric contrasts, and flexible zones for coworking, art, and social interaction.
