FORM Hotel Dubai: A Contemporary Design Landmark in the Heart of Al Jaddaf

FORM Hotel launches in Dubai, a landmark project for the Emirate conceived by internationally renowned Architecture-Studio.

Dubai has long been recognised as a city that constantly reinvents itself. Whether described as the city of the desert, an international playground, or a global hub of innovation, the Emirate thrives on challenging perceptions and embracing design-led evolution. Nowhere is this commitment to progress more evident than in its extraordinary collection of hotels, each offering a unique perspective on luxury and hospitality.

Among them, FORM Hotel Dubai stands apart. Opened in 2018 and situated in the vibrant neighbourhood of Al Jaddaf, adjacent to the Culture Village, the FORM Hotel is more than just a place to stay; it is an architectural statement and a cultural experience. As the first member of Design Hotels™ in the UAE, FORM offers design-driven travellers an environment defined by minimalist sophistication, thoughtful details, and a focus on wellbeing.

Architecture and Exterior Design

FORM Hotel was conceived by the internationally renowned Architecture-Studio, a Paris-based practice known for pushing the boundaries of contemporary design. From the outside, the hotel makes an immediate impression. Its striking white façade, punctuated by unsymmetrical black-framed windows, presents a bold yet balanced architectural language. The building stands as a crisp contrast to the desert tones of its surroundings while resonating with Dubai’s reputation for bold architectural experimentation.

This façade is more than aesthetic; it signals the hotel’s design philosophy. FORM is committed to simplicity over excess, refinement over opulence, and intelligent detail over unnecessary embellishment. This philosophy is carried throughout the interiors, where carefully selected materials, clean lines, and bespoke furniture create a timeless yet thoroughly modern experience.

Interiors: Scandinavian Simplicity Meets Arabian Warmth

Inside, FORM Hotel embraces a Scandinavian-inspired interior aesthetic, offering 136 rooms across seven different layout options. Ranging from the 20 sq. m Cosy Single to the spacious 50 sq. m Mega Room, each space reflects an appreciation for materiality, proportion, and texture.

A consistent design feature throughout the rooms is the use of walnut wood panelling, which serves as a backdrop for the beds and is framed in matte black metal. Furniture, including desks and side tables, attaches seamlessly to this framework, creating a cantilevered, minimalist appearance. This clever integration allows clean lines to dominate the space, while subtle details such as brass screws, handles, and light bands add warmth and refinement.

The rooms balance crisp white walls and linens with warmer wooden tones and industrial-style black finishes, creating a palette that is calm, contemporary, and universally appealing to design-conscious guests.

Practicality is also at the heart of FORM’s interiors. Each room features an all-in-one storage unit that separates the sleeping area from the vanity space. This multifunctional divider includes concealed luggage storage, a safety deposit box, open shelving, and clothing rails. The bathroom facilities adopt the same minimalist approach, with a frosted glass double door leading to a wet room and water closet, ensuring privacy without compromising the open-plan aesthetic.

Roots Kitchen by Parlour: A Destination for Healthy Dining

FORM Hotel’s commitment to modern living extends beyond its architecture and interiors to its culinary philosophy. The in-house restaurant, Roots Kitchen by Parlour, is a contemporary dining destination that champions clean, healthy eating.

Located adjacent to the lobby and divided by a beautifully crafted slatted walnut screen with matte black detailing, Roots feels simultaneously open and intimate. Natural light floods the space, enhancing the sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere.

The restaurant’s design is as carefully considered as its menu. Guests enter beneath a twelve-arm modern chandelier, which hangs above a circular seating booth at the heart of the room. Along the windows, a white marble breakfast bar, lined with olive-green velvet chairs, creates a casual yet elegant space to enjoy juices, light meals, or coffee, with a view of the terrace.

The surrounding interiors continue FORM’s design palette: walnut wood wall panels, soft grey upholstery, and glossy black tables with brass trim. Every element reflects the hotel’s dedication to combining design integrity with guest comfort.

Wellness and Lifestyle at the Rooftop

For many travellers, wellness is no longer optional but an essential part of the hotel experience. FORM Hotel embraces this shift by offering guests a rooftop destination dedicated to health and relaxation.

The highlight is the half-length Olympic swimming pool, finished with blue and white mosaic tiling and positioned to capture panoramic views of the surrounding Culture Village and Marsa Al Khor. Whether swimming laps or soaking in the Arabian sun, guests can enjoy the perfect balance of exercise and leisure.

Surrounding the pool are wooden loungers and soft-upholstered chairs, creating a relaxed terrace setting. A poolside wellbeing retreat complements the space, offering locally sourced refreshments, light meals, and thoughtfully curated items. Guests can even access mindful add-ons, such as private yoga sessions, bespoke art, or even designer pyjamas, ensuring that no two stays feel the same.

Alongside the pool, FORM offers a state-of-the-art fitness centre with skyline views, reinforcing the hotel’s positioning as a destination for modern travellers who value both design and lifestyle.

A New Kind of Luxury in Dubai

Dubai is often associated with grandeur, extravagance, and larger-than-life hotels. FORM challenges this perception by introducing a new interpretation of luxury, one that is understated, thoughtful, and deeply connected to the needs of contemporary travellers.

Instead of gilded opulence, FORM offers:

  • Design-led interiors that celebrate simplicity.

  • Healthy, conscious dining is a central part of the guest experience.

  • Flexible, well-planned rooms that prioritise function without sacrificing style.

  • Wellbeing-focused facilities, from yoga to rooftop swimming.

This holistic approach makes FORM more than a hotel; it is an ecosystem designed to refresh, revitalise, and inspire every guest who walks through its doors.

Location and Cultural Context

Set within Al Jaddaf and the Culture Village, FORM benefits from a location that is rapidly emerging as one of Dubai’s most creative districts. With its proximity to the Dubai Creek, museums, galleries, and cultural initiatives, the neighbourhood reflects the city’s ambition to foster art and design on a global stage. Guests staying at FORM are not only immersed in the hotel’s design but also positioned to explore the wider cultural fabric of Dubai.

FORM Hotel as a Benchmark for Design Hotels in the UAE

As the first Design Hotels™ member in the UAE, FORM has established itself as a benchmark for future hospitality projects in the region. It proves that luxury can be intelligent, that minimalism can feel indulgent, and that design can enhance every aspect of the guest experience.

From its striking architectural presence and Scandinavian-inspired interiors to its wellness-driven rooftop and health-focused dining, FORM embodies the spirit of contemporary travel. For design lovers, architects, and culturally curious visitors, FORM Hotel Dubai is more than accommodation—it is a destination of ideas, creativity, and modern living.
